Foam pipe insulation details
Flexible elastomeric closed-cell foam pipe insulation, also known as rubber, is composed of synthetic rubber. The two main foam rubber formulations that are commercially available are nitrile butadiene rubber with PVC (NBR/PVC). The insulation materials are widely in multiple scenes for thermal insulation and noise reduction, which are used in various pipes and equipment, such as central air conditioning, air conditioning units, construction, chemical, medicine, electrical appliances, aerospace, auto industry, thermal power etc.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What temperature range can this elastomeric foam insulation withstand?

This insulation material is highly versatile, providing effective and reliable performance across a wide operating temperature range from -50°C to 110°C.

Where is this insulation material typically applied?

It is widely used for thermal insulation and noise reduction in central air conditioning systems, AC ducts, chilled water lines, copper pipelines, drain lines, and machinery across chemical, medical, automotive, and aerospace industries.

How does this insulation handle moisture and water absorption?

The material possesses exceptionally high water vapor diffusion resistance, which results in negligible water absorption, preventing condensation and rust formation on pipelines.

Does this insulation offer fire resistant properties?

Yes, it achieves top-tier fire ratings of Class 0 and Class 1 as per building standards and complies with key safety parameters such as ASTM E 84 for flame spread and smoke indexes.

Is the material environmentally friendly and safe to handle?

Absolutely. The foam features zero ozone depletion properties and is entirely dust and fiber-free, making it clean, easy to install, and safe for indoor air quality.
