Frequently Asked Questions
What are the primary differences between closed-cell and open-cell structures?
Closed-cell Nitrile Rubber structures provide exceptional thermal resistance and vapor barriers, preventing moisture intrusion. Conversely, open-cell structures excel in sound absorption and acoustic insulation.
What temperature range can this elastomeric foam insulation withstand?
The material operates safely and efficiently across a temperature range of -50°C to 110°C, tested in compliance with GB/T 17794-1999 standards.
How does the fire rating classification work for these products?
The insulation materials are bifurcated into Class "O" and Class "1" based on fire resistance tests (BS 476 Part 6 & 7). It also features a flame spread and smoke developed index rating of 25/50 according to ASTM E 84 standards.
Does this insulation offer resistance to moisture and mold?
Yes, with a very low water vapor permeability (≤0.91×10⁻¹³ Kg/(m.s.pa)) and high water resistance index (μ ≥10000), the material effectively prevents condensation. It is also rated "Good" for fungi resistance under ASTM 21 standards.
Is the material suitable for outdoor installations exposed to weathering?
Yes. According to ASTM G23 and GB/T 7762-1987 test methods, the Nitrile Rubber insulation possesses good resistance to both ozone and weathering/UV exposure.
What thickness options are available for the insulation rolls?
The sheets are available in standard thicknesses ranging from 1/4" (6mm) to 2" (50mm), and can be customized with width configurations of 1m, 1.2m, and 1.5m.
