Surface Preparation & Sizing Verification

Ensure the mechanical piping is clean, dry, and free of dirt, rust, or oils. Match the inner diameter (ID) of the Kingflex tube accurately to the pipe's outer diameter to prevent internal air voids that facilitate condensation.

Slitting and Adhesive Prep

When pre-formed tubes cannot be slid onto open piping, slit the tube longitudinally using a sharp knife. Apply a thin, even layer of Kingflex Adhesive 520 on both cut edges. Allow the adhesive to become tacky to the touch (approx. 3-8 minutes depending on humidity).

Pressure-Seam Bond execution

Press the slit edges firmly together starting from the ends and moving inward. Apply firm, localized pressure along the entire seam line to create a vapor-proof, molecular bond. Do not pull or stretch the elastomeric material during joint construction.

Elbow and Tee Fittings Fabrication

Cut miter joints directly from the insulation tube utilizing templates for 90° elbows, 45° bends, and T-joints. Clean-cut faces must be fully adhered to seal off ambient air infiltration completely.
