Kingflex elastomeric Nitrile Butadiene Rubber (NBR) and Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) co-polymer insulation foam is engineered using a proprietary gas-injection thermal extrusion process. By vulcanizing and foaming the raw co-polymer mix under precise atmospheric pressure, we create a closed-cell matrix containing over 98% non-connecting microscopic nitrogen gas cells.

Unlike open-cell materials or fibrous insulations like rock wool, this configuration functions as an integrated, continuous vapor barrier. Moisture is prevented from migrating into the core insulation layers, avoiding the degradation of thermal resistance over time. The water vapor permeability coefficient is exceptionally high ($\mu \ge 10,000$), ensuring the thermal conductivity ($\lambda$) remains virtually constant even in high relative humidity environments.

For engineering design, preventing condensation is paramount. When warm, humid air contacts cold piping systems, condensation can occur, leading to metal oxidation, corrosion under insulation (CUI), and structural rot.
